Villa Renge is located about ten minutes northeast of Ubud and is situated across the street from and about 100 meters before Hotel Alila and a nearby heliport.
The project is currently about 80% complete with construction. I’m leasing two hectares of land with almost 360 degrees control of the view. The Balinese owners are potentially interested in selling the land. My building site is 200 meters off the main road so there’s lots of privacy. Actually it’s more like an estate than a private villa.
Attached are several photos of one of the glass-enclosed living room pavilions, which is already completed. There will be six similar structures when the project is finished. I’m using this first pavilion as my Buddhist chanting/meditation room but it could easily serve as an entertainment/multimedia space. Three of these inverted pyramid-shaped steel structures will be nested together to form the main building: living, dining, bar/kitchen levels. The dining table will be five meters long perched on five different levels one step apart. Below there's a 15-meter "underground waterway" with stepping stones leading thru an art gallery toward the guest restroom with frosted glass partitions and mirror rising from the water and an open view to the jungle below. Each pavilion floats in an infinity-edged reflecting pool with about twenty levels of water all together. See the main building completed structure in the attached photo. Another two similar but separate pavilions serve as the master and guest bedrooms.
All the concrete work, the steel roof structures, and the downstairs plaster work is already completed for the remaining five pavilions. As soon as the stone work on the reflecting pools is complete we can install the thatched roofs, glass walls and the granite floor tiles.
The staff house and garage are already completed and there will be parking for about 15 cars.
